The Coffee Legacy: what do users think?

John K: One of my favorite coffee places in that area (Chapultepec Ave.) which is loaded with bars, restaurants and cafes. A perfect place to watch the locals walk by while you enjoy their high end coffee and bakery, it transforms into a restaurant and bar throughout the day. This antique house was transformed into a perfect hang out and viewing place for any time of the day.

Amir Zahir: Super place to have meetings, very great beer, amazing coffee! Price range is ok! Place is amazing comfortable very low music to chat or even play house games. Bathrooms clean Waiter’s are always a hazle but the come thru eventually. Never bring you the correct order at first but they do try their best!

Kambiz Motamedi: We had press coffee and carrot cake. We also bought some grinded coffee to go. They roast their own coffee in the shop. Great service and friendly staff.

mithun salian: Some may say that the best coffee in Guadalajara is at El terrible Juan (10 minutes walking from here) but I firmly believe that this place has better coffee and some really good food.. Pictured here is the chilaquiles con arrachera which in my opinion has the best chilaquiles sauce among all the places I have eaten chilaquiles. Barista guy is a pleasant and friendly guy who is more than happy to dispense any trade knowledge if you want to know.

Jae Lee: Great classical decor , music jazz.Missing comfortable seats and lounge style furniture. The seating is more like a restaurant, not a hangout cafe.

Alicia Mata: Decoration and coffee is nice. My chicken burrito was not great

Diana Albertson: We love this place!!! The service is impeccable, the lattes are an experience with art, the venue is very industrial "hip" and the pancakes with ice cream and whipped cream is the best we have ever had. Better than any of the local pancake houses. They make a berry sauce that is chef worthy and berries are their thing. Go!!

Isabel Torres: Great breakfast options and amazing coffee!

Timo Scott: Incredible food and coffee! I had the chemex honey coffee and chilaquiles breakfast. Both were amazing. My wife had the mazapan latte and the terrible bacon cheese sandwich, which was soooo good I wished I had ordered it! I also had a whole milk latte. It was perfect. Will definitely be back again!

Marcos Chavez: The drinks are Delicious so is the food. I had the iced Mazapan Latte and the Terrible Bacon Cheese Sandwich. So good. The prices are good you will be stuffed with the portions. Come by and check it out. Parking: Just park outside on the street. Plenty of space.

Tiffany Moonsammy: I had a burger at this cafe and it was a terrible juan 😂 in all honestly it is a tourist trap, digital nomads love this place but I believe that there are many other cafes that in my opinion are better, in terms of quality of food and price. Alot of time you have to line up to get table and then the staff aren’t very friendly and flexible. I give this restaurant 3 stars because it has decent wifi and you can sit there for a while if you can get past the fact that the staff will keep asking if you want something else every hour. The food is mediocre
Response: We are sorry that you didn't enjoy the food, you just need to ask the staff to change It and they'll do It. Our dishes are made with the best quality ingredients. Certainly if you are looking to stay all day using the wifi, is not the place.

Juliet for OnlyOnwards: This place is fantastic! Only for the hard core meat eaters! They have great burgers & sandwiches . I went for the terrible sandwich with cheese (it was a tough choice between sandwich brutal, which is just super meaty - I love the names, haha). Not sure who Terrible Jose was but his terrible sandwiches are terrific! The girls who work here are super lovely too! Totally recommended. Oh! They have a bakery too with great patisserie & coffee!

Ben Steyn: All the dishes coming out of the kitchen looked amazing and it was a difficult decision to make. Settled for the Terrible Bacon Cheese Sandwich and it didn’t disappoint! Friendly service and a nice atmosphere, highly recommended!

Coco C: I love coffee, and this place has a good assortment of hot and cold coffees. Food is fresh and so delicious.

Nick Sayers: Perfect coffee and great staff. The food looks amazing as well. I had a biscuit that came with delicious jam and whipped butter. The atmosphere is great too. Surrounded by plants and vines.

Maribel Coyotl: I came here after my flight ... Their coffee is good.Their food has good flavor. The service is friendly and very attentive.

Kaitlyn Paige: This is hands down one of the best specialty cafes in Guadalajara. They brew an amazing cup of coffee! Walked by this place one day and felt in love with it ever since. The staffs are welcoming and really knowledgeable about their beans. They can talk to you about coffee all day! They have all different kinds of slow pour methods to try. Love the fact that they have new beans about every couple weeks so you don’t get bored. We got to try so many different beans from all over Mexico. Cozy atmosphere, good music, and an excellent cup of coffee…every single time!
Response: Thank you so much for this lovely review!! We are please to have you here.

Learned Gonzales: Skip Starbucks. Small hole-in-the-wall coffee shop. My favorite coffee spot in Guadalajara. Smoothest lattes. Coolest staff. Very friendly atmosphere. Chill and relaxing.

Marcel Berndt: Perfect coffee, delicious sandwich, cool & cosy atmosphere

Christoph Berger: Best Cappuchino and Toast/Sandwich!!Regards

Ed Briscoe: Not sure if barista speaks English but the two guys were really happy to spend ages to me talking about all the beans they have. Nice chilled out vibe.
Response: Thanks to you! To stop by our coffee shop and taste our coffee. It was a pleasure have you in our place

Michalis Antoniou: Good coffee, horrible staff.
Response: Michalis I feel sad to read that you have an inconvenient with the Staff I will like to know how we can compensate it!

Mike Gosling: Great pour over coffee. Cozy location.

Juan Carlos: Fantastic specialty coffee bar. Very trained barista, very cordial attention, the place is small but very nice. You will be able to find different grains every week of excellent quality. highly recommended

Jaffet Ortega: The people who work in this establishment were trained to know how to give coffee, it is an exquisite place to wake up and relax, if you are a CAAV student you already know where to go

Alondra Raigoso: If you are looking for a good specialty bar, this is the option, many coffees to choose from for brewing, the atmosphere is super relaxed, super friendly baristas, the espresso from Oaxaca 10/10 although the blend xoco is missed, deli food, always nice visit them :)

Peter Bassett: Their coffee tastes great! There are lots of coffee shops in Guadalajara that have poor quality coffee. This place is where you go to sit and relax and drink a nice cup of coffee.

Annemarie Golz: Delicious sandwiches and latte. Nice place to sit and eat breakfast, across from a green park.

louis yagera: Nice litte café in the center of Guadalajara.

Always K: Love the hot chocolate here! Great customer service.

Scott Campbell: Wonderful cafe, serving delicious coffee and crepes, and overlooking the park. I had a cappuccino rompope and a crepe with strawberries and drizzled sweet milk - and it was so good, I ordered more!

Armando Alvarez: The cake here is pretty good and quite cheap

Maroosh De: Good coffee.

Frank Cervantes Estrada: Incre

Rody: The service is quite fast and the drinks are delicious. I ordered a taro latte and, ufff, exquisite. They have nice music and at a good volume. The place is small but comfortable. I recommend.

Luis Eduardo Patiño Leyva: Good place to meet friends, work or just have coffee. The food is also very good. I tried the chicken crepe and the pancake de nata and both were very tasty. The coffee is also very good, knowing how to prepare it without exaggerating in sugar (I asked for a mocha) and with a good presentation. To top it off, the precious ones are not expensive. In general I highly recommend it.

Miguel Ochoa Hernández: One of the few specialty coffees in the city! And definitely one of the best places to enjoy a really good cup of coffee or you can either drink the coffee there or buy a bag to enjoy it at home. The place offers a wide variety of coffee preparations to fit everyone preferences and finally, they have single origin specialty Mexican coffee and you can buy the whole beans or ground coffee bags.

Maroosh De: This place is great for that perfect cup of coffee. Brewed in all possible ways. They have in-house roasters and lots of knowledge. I recommend.

Jorge: excellent knowledge of coffee proceedures and qualities. If you can, ask for a lecture about coffee. They only serve premium certified grains.

Andy Krull: The americano here is delicious and served at a perfect drinkable temperature. Definitely the best cafe in the area and the prices are more fair than the bland chain store a block away.

Kurt Schenk: Best coffee in town. Fair prices to the growers. Perfection costs a little more, but it’s worth it!

: This place... god, this is a gem! So simple, yet so good. They are attentive to every single detail and are very thoughtful of the process and of the place itself. I found this out passing by and I am glad I did. I totally recommend it!

Sean Edgley: Nice girl working here. She helped me to select beans and ground them for me. Tasty coffee from Chiapas. Muchas gracias!

Braulio G. Zenteno: The Best Coffee Shop in Guadalajara!!!The taste on every of their coffee variety is excellent and different, don’t waste on buying commercial coffee beans on the supermarket, spend on a great roast and you will start your days better while supporting local producers.

D R: Excellent espresso and cappuccino. Purchased coffee beans and had them ground for my brewing method. Very attentive service.

Melissa Sacz: Good food. My favorite coffee is Amareto Latte, so good.

Emmanuel Meneses: Good place, but electric connection does not work properly.

Roberto “Taco_of_Death” Carlos: The place is beautiful and the coffee is good.

Brandon Camberos: Wen café

Wendy Montaño: My experience was good, clean place with air conditioning, they treated me very well, I went at noon, slightly crowded and the latte was good, it was not bad although nothing special. Friday. July. 2pm P.S. At the outside tables I was bitten by mosquitoes so I went inside to the tables. I would suggest having established music or suitable for cafeterias, not popular music or to the taste of the staff on duty.

Faby Fischer: Excellent service from the barista Sergio Islas, he treats customers in general very well and he explains the menu to the elderly very well and treats them very well! Congratulations!

Manuel Adrián Rangel Pérez: Good cafe to wait or have a nice time...

Kathy McLeod: The servers were very unfriendly. It is unfortunate because we read some good reviews and we walked 3 kms in the rain to try this place. We were soaked when we got there. The place was empty except for the workers. We were not welcomed. In fact, they made us feel like we were interrupting their day. The coffee was ok. We also tried muffin/croissant. It was good. It is not worth going out of your way to visit this place. There is a washroom there. There is inside and outside seating. The outside seating is not usable when it is raining.
Response: Hello Kathy, we are sorry that your visit did not meet your expectations. We hope you can visit us again to change your point of view!

Goddess Magnolya: Herbal té grande was comforting, lovely. No order issues. Our experience lacked a welcome vibe, sadly.

Joel G. Morales: This is a dream snail coffee shop in the nice neighborhood of Guadalajara. The Colonia is Americana.

Julia Casillas: Cute spot that has unfortunately gone down hill in it’s quality of offerings. They used to offer a nice Matcha and have now opted for the sugary stand-in. While the staff is welcoming they aren’t sensitive to dietary restrictions. Could have easily changed my drink for something I could consume but opted not to. Many other options with better customer service.

Tangerine Travels: Our breakfast was delicious and fresh. Great service too. We will definitely come back again!

Katie V.S: I came here for the first time in July of 2021 and here is my feedback of this location. The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and the server attentive. I ordered a capuccino and a panini called “En punto”. The coffee and the panini with a delicious salad was really tasty. If you ever travel to Guadalajara, please don’t hesitate to visit this place for a quick stop or to just sit around and enjoy a nice meal. You probably will wish to buy another coffee before you leave the town. Don’t take it from me, try it yourself, you won’t regret!
Response: Your review means a lot to us and makes us see that we are on the right track! Thanks a lot!

AD GA: Great lunch spot. Food is nice and staff is friendly, very slow at times tho. 40 mins for breakfast

crystal li: Beautiful space and delicious cacao

Loreta Jasibe Moreno Flores: In the construction square (hero children, progress, Spain and chapu) although you may not believe it, you will find this little place that is excellently attended, It has a wide variety of coffees, chai, tizanas, and products for cafeterias or for private use . Tmb has a mini cafeteria area. In addition, they also sell machines to make coffee. It has parking space, it does not have access for people with different abilities.

JORGE HIDALGO: Excellent service from Héctor Salazar. We bought 2 new SAB coffee machines, a couple of used grinders and 3 used coffee machines. Of the used 2 they had breakdowns and we thought that it would not respect the guarantee, but ohhh surprise! He made it valid for us and as they repaired it, he lent us equipment. Places that show their faces when they make mistakes are missing in the city. Without a doubt highly recommended

Jose Ramirez: Terrible experience, be very careful to buy used equipment in this place, buy an espresso machine and a grinder, neither equipment in good condition, basically unusable! It seems that they already had a bad reputation for these practices, avoid this nightmare, since January I made the purchase and to date my mill has been under repair for months. They are the kings of pretexts and they are very, very badly fit!

Denisse Rojo: Excellent service provided by all staff

DENISSE NAVARRO: Excellent customer service, they explained everything to us in detail.

Rubèn Aceves: Excellent service. Very good assortment of parts and spare parts for machines and mills.

David de la O: Excellent place to buy supplies, espresso machines, spare parts, French presses, quality coffee, flavors for very varied drinks and you can order your freshly made coffee to taste if you are passing through, a highly recommended establishment
Response: Thank you for your visit David, it is always a pleasure to be of service

Jersson Martinez: 100% confidence, excellent products, quality and customer service of 10. Machines in excellent condition... Super recommended.
Response: Thank you for your trust

Enco Distribuciones: Without a doubt the best show room with the best supplies, great taro and chai line, 100% recommended. Excellent service.
Response: Thank you for your recommendation we hope to see you soon

Joel Duncan: A cozy hidden gem in one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Guadalajara. I recently stayed near this cafe and went there every morning for my breakfast and coffee. I really hit it off with the baristas and the two owners who made me feel right at home. I would highly recommend the avocado toast with feta cheese and pico de gallo. The iced coffee is also an excellent choice when the city heats up.
Response: Thanks for your support & visits Joel. We have something new for you to try the next time you come to Guadalajara!

Erik Marcus: An immaculate, tiny, and welcoming coffee and juice spot on a quiet street. Monica, the co-owner, is super friendly. A good espresso cost 30 pesos, and you can pour yourself a glass of purified water to go with it.
Response: Thanks for stopping by Erik. Come again the next time you’re in the area.

marcus mancias: The barista is very knowledgeable and the cafe is beautiful. Must visit in Guadalajara. Order a specialty drink like Bulletproof coffee or Gibraltar.
Response: We are waiting for you when you return to Guadalajara Marcus! Thank you very much.

Dan Doe: LOVE This Cafe!! Guadelajara definitely has a coffee culture and as such there are several great cafes in the area. Since opening Manila has become my favorite.. it’s close to my house so I might be biased haha but the coffee is great and the service is quick and friendly. It’s by far the easiest place to get a coffee to go and when I need a place to work the tables are super comfortable and every seat is equipped with an electrical outlet. Definitely check this place out.. and I’ve heard a rumor they will be selling craft beer soon!! Whoa!!!
Response: Thanks for your support Dan! Still in process but very soon we’ll have an cold, artisanal chela waiting for you!

Nathan French: Cozy cafe in one of Guadalajara’s trendiest neighborhoods. Great coffee. I had the flat white and the Bulletproof. Both were delicious. Great avocado toast. Made fresh to order. Great WIFI. Awesome cafe to go to work for a little while.
Response: Great to see you Nathan. Come again the next time you visit the city. We’ll have a bulletproof and toast waiting for you!

Paul Aguilar: I enjoyed my experience at Cafe Manila. Very friendly staff and delicious coffee, especially the Mocha!
Response: Thank you for your visit to Manila Paul. We hope to see you again.

Brooke Small: If you’re looking for a great cup of coffee with a relaxed atmosphere, this is the spot! The baristas make you feel right at home and one of the owners even went above and beyond giving us recommendations to make sure we made the most of our time in GDL. They also have great Wifi if you need to get some work done. Such a lovely spot that’s definitely worth a visit :)
Response: Thanks for the loving words! You have a house here when you return to Guadalajara. Take care of yourself!

Cory Igo: A very good location with a friendly staff who are very helpful to visitors new to the area. Relaxed and wonderful atmosphere. Excellent variations of coffee and very healthy natural food. A great place to meet people, study, and relax!

Ed Briscoe: Speak easy coffee shop with art space in the middle of a very local looking neighborhood. Staff were nice, it was v60 day so I had a very good valued coffee to say the least!

Rene R: good place pretty good coffee
Response: Oww! We are waiting for you soon

Lisa De Wilde: Closed, no signs of why it was closed, entrance hard to be found when they’re closed. Came back another day, closed again. Maybe something’s up with the opening hours?
Response: We are a speakeasy coffee ✨

Leo Laster: The place has a very authentic and old style, I find it very comfortable with an unusual concept and it makes the experience a good one. The drinks are very delicious and the people who serve are super friendly, simply the vibe of this place is very good and makes you want to come back later. I recommend it for drinks and to have a good time.
