Bruna: what do users think?

Emily Cheevers: We just had dinner here and had such an exceptional experience. Everything from the beautifully presented drinks, the delicious food, the stunning garden/atmosphere, and the exceptional service was amazing. It seriously rivalled and beat all other high end restaurants we have been too. And to top off the amazing service, when I asked if I could plug my phone in at the host stand (as our Airbnb info was on it), they brought a portable charger to our table instead! All so amazing. Thank you so much!

CCG G: Fantastic food, service, and ambiance. We ordered a large variety of appetizers, entrees, and dessert and everything exceeded our expectations. The octopus carpaccio was my favorite dish and it was beyond delicious!! I’m dreaming of a trip back to Guadalajara just to eat here again! The cocktail selection was impressive. The ambiance was delightful. The garden of rare tropical plants is the perfect backdrop for a lovely dinner or photos. (My sister asked for her steak well-done but it was still delicious)

B.E. Marle: It’s a must if you are in Guadalajara! The food is marvelous and rare, made with very special local ingredients, the mixology drinks add to the experience and the architecture and ambience of the house complete the scene! No other restaurant in the world could offer this great experience.

Carlos Favela: Got seated very quickly. Awesome service and the food was impeccable Update: I came a 2nd time before leaving Guadalajara and will say this is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to worldwide. There is an art gallery and gardens with bonsai on-site that make a very nice post-meal stroll. A MUST if you’re in the city

Mihwa Lee: Highend restaurant set in an old mansion, with generous seating areas mostly in the garden area. Beautiful garden landscape. Food was very beautifully plated, almost too good to eat. Tasted just as good. Blue corn tortillas freshed made in the restaurant. Only complaint I had was that our waiter seemed to keep rushing us to finish our food and was in a hurry to clear our plates.

Javier Flores: Bruna is a very eclectic restaurant with an incredible atmosphere. The service is super friendly, combined with a great mixology in the menu. We ordered some food to share in the table, all was really good, you’ll see all that in the pictures. As you may know I’m a Carajillo lover and this wasn’t an exception to taste that in Bruna and I really recommend it. Thank you and I’ll be back soon for a dinner.

Cenk Tunc: Bruna is a place I went to on the recommendation of a friend. The first thing that caught my attention while the welcoming team was directing us was the decoration. Artworks on the walls, spotlessly clean everywhere. An upscale and highly respected restaurant. Staff speaks english. They guided us to the right dishes with their detailed explanations. Also the surprise tequila selections were great. At the end of the night, I left satisfied.

Pierre Champigny: This is an amazing restaurant, the food, the presentation, the garden are wonderful. I knocked off a star because of the service. The staff had no personality starting with the hostess whom seemed bothered by just being there. This is a fine dining establishment but it didn't feel that way because of the service and people dining in sweat pants and t-shirts. The food was great though and the steaks are served with no sides but for just 40 pesos you can add a huge salad or mashed potatoes, I added both and they are definitely worthwhile adding. Only complaint with the food was the clam chowder didnt really have much juice and there was an excessive amount of bacon which took over the flavour but the rest of the food was top notch. The gardens make great picture moments.

Catherine Rose: This restaurant is beyond amazing, the service was impeccable, the decor is so beautiful and so photo friendly, you literally get to eat in a garden. The food was so delicious, Pro tip: order the off the grill short rib for the table easily feeds 4-6 people and it's some of the best barbeque (no sauce) I've ever had. They also make there own tortallis in house, to order and practically right in front of you. They have very interactive and delicious cocktails. Fyi the mole flight comes with dollops of different mole and an order of tortillas, it was nice to try but it was the table's least favorite dish, everything else we ordered was beyond delicious!

Sergio Rocha: I had the feeling that they didn't want to provide me with a table because I was solo. They claimed tables were reserved, but there were way too many empty tables. I ended sitting down at the bar which was uncomfortable to have dinner. Dish i asked for was tasty, however the service was poor. The property has a nice garden area, that, could be a nice spot for a dinner date. Prices were high for Mexico.

Restaurante Alcalde: what do users think?

Andrew Li: Came here for the 10 course tasting menu. We were quite impressed. All the dishes were strong, with a few outstanding (particularly the truffle dessert). The flavors were bold and a bit unconventional at times - make sure you are OK eating some insects. Overall, a great and worthy experience. Would definitely recommend.

Eduardo Lastra R: I had the tasting menu at Alcalde with high expectations and it did deliver and more. Highly inventive dishes using local heritage produce. In particular I loved the desserts.

Yinting Yeh: Cozy place to enjoy the great food and the atmosphere. Service are great, and the wine recommendation was spot on. A very relaxing and enjoyable dining experience for innovative integration of local ingredients.

Yufei Nie: First time visiting the restaurant due to the top 50 recognition. Got the sweetbread, octopus, and rice pudding. Food feels very monotone. There was nothing really impressive. The sweetbreads tasted like chicharrones on top of mashed potatoes and gravy paired with tortillas to make tacos. One piece of sweetbread has a little sweetness which I liked and helped cut through the richness. When I finished the dish, after 7 tacos, I was already getting full. The octopus dish tasted like a basic curry dish with rice. Although the octopus was precooked to perfection, for some reason they decided to cook it again which ended up drying out some of the pieces without adding much additional texture or flavor. The rice pudding was probably the most interesting dish of the meal with rice paper on top of horchata ice cream, a sugary crumble, and lots of rice on the bottom. Overall, I wished the portions were smaller with fewer carbohydrates with a price to reflect such change so I could try another dish or two to get a better representation of the restaurant. The drinks were delicious but a little watered down and could use more garnish to make it look more impressive. For example, the rosita was just in a glass by itself. The seating by the kitchen was interesting but over time it got increasingly hot as more orders came in and lacked cushions. Overall, it was an ok meal with a high price (1000+ pesos).

Luis Ulloa: The service is excellent, food is so good, I was expecting a bigger restaurant but, definitely a place to visit

Robyn Huang: Eating here was a lovely experience on a beautiful day. The squash root appetizer, lechon and rice pudding were the standouts. Beautifully plated, well composed dishes with excellent flavours. Everything was just really well cooked, fresh and hearty. The sangria cocktails were beautiful. Service was attentive. Absolutely wonderful meal at reasonable prices.

Robert Stephenson: Nothing to say but Great. I was wowed by 8 out of the 9 dishes. The week before l dined at a restaurant in Mexico City that starts with a P and ends in l and Alcalde taste was surprior.

Ari R: One of the best restaurants in Guadalajara. The food is out of this world, if you want to taste real food with a touch of Mexico try this place. Excellent service, Elizabeth who was our waitress was excellent. Thank you
Response: Hello, Ari! Thank you a lot for your visit and your review, it means a lot to us! We're very happy to see you had a good time, Elizabeth is indeed excellent. We promise we'll keep working hard to see each of our costumers happy every time. Come back soon!

Timothy Crepeau: This has been our favorite meal in Guadalajara so far. The food was incredible. And they also had one of the best margaritas we’ve had in a long time. Elizabeth was wonderful - she provided the best service and ensured we had a great experience. She was also kind enough to provide us a list of recommendations while visiting Guadalajara. She truly went above and beyond every possible expectation we had. Everything we tried was stellar. Highly recommend the aguachile, gordita, pulpo, and cordero. We can’t wait to come back and hopefully we’ll be seated with Elizabeth again!

Joe Calmese: Very good food. Went as a business meal and was very impressed with the simple, straight forward menu. Not a ton of vegan options but the chef made a couple selections that were great. Enjoyed the local craft beer too. Would definitely return and try more appetizers. Kitchen was clean and wide open. Loved that. Wait staff spoke perfect English. Very helpful.

Hueso Restaurante: what do users think?

Erika Lee: This place is incredible. My boyfriend and I went in expecting small plates and were pleasantly surprised by how large the plates were. We had the risotto and the muscles to start, which were the perfect combination. These dishes are some of the best we’ve ever had - will be dreaming about those muscles. The short rib was good (I’m not a huge red meat person), but my boyfriend liked it a lot. The ambiance was wonderful - amazing art work on the walls, open kitchen and family style tables. Service was friendly and attentive as well. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner out, you won’t be disappointed!!
Response: Thank you very much!!!

Irving G: From the start you are greeted by friendly staff that really make you feel welcomed. The place has unique decor, all white and bone related stuff, really nice vibe. The food is amazing, it was served family style for us, delicious and fresh… I actually enjoyed eating all my vegetables, but my favorite was the short ribs, a must try. Cocktails were also really really good. I’d definitely come back whenever I an in Guadalajara.
Response: Thank you so much

Jose de Jesus Reyes Cortes: Lovely!!! staff was super kind and made us feel home and comfortable, they knew the menu at the perfection. We had a lovely night surrounded by very interesting white decoration. Food was very good! TOP
Response: Thank you so much

Brian Myers: The staff was incredibly friendly, The ambience was comfortable, it is a little hidden and off the path. But just trust in the navigation. Also, the portion sizes are very large so just be aware. If we ever return to Guadalajara we will make sure to do it again.
Response: Thank you so much

Tanya Enid: After searching for "late dinner Guadalajara" results said they were open until midnight on a Friday night. Got dropped off there at 10pm for dinner, security officer laughed at my face. Management: You are a restaurant so please uodate the kitchen hours. Update: Had a friend visiting and took her for dinner on a Wednesday night. The décor is bones, they managed to make a boneyard look chic. The menu is one page and ever changing. We ordered the Beef Tartar, the mussels made my foodie friend cry of foodie bliss. The drinks were delicious. I had a cold and ask the bartender to make me something spicy and he delivered a delicious citrusy, habanero infused tequila drink with chili oil that was exactly what my throat was asking for. Service was exceptional. Crumbs of bread barely made it to the table that the waitresses were wiping it. We had no room for dessert, unfortunately. My only gripe is the "late night dinner" bit of misinformation online but I changed from 1 to 5 stars. I had a good experience.

Wang Hung: Fine dining, portions are larger intended to be shared. Only one row of table, you will possibly be seated next to strangers. Good food though.
Response: Thank you

Pamela Rodriguez: One of my favorites, you have to love this place, the decoration is amazing, really different, the menu is constantly changing, we tried almost everything and it was delicious, they have great drinks as well and our waitress Irais was really nice to us, prompt and friendly service 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟, We can’t wait to be back!
Response: Thank you so much!

Magee Clegg: Incredible dining experience, delicious food, wonderful wine selection, great service - interior decoration and the vibe was amazing!
Response: Thank you so much

Lauren Kruz: Hueso was phenomenal - the restaurant is also an art installation down to the plates and serving dishes and the menu/food is culinary brilliance. The pulpo was cooked better than I’ve ever had (not chewy!) and the pato has so many flavors and is so uniquely balanced. Service was also warm and wonderful and they play great music. Highly recommend this unique experience in GDL!
Response: Thank you so much

Always K: To say this place is excellent would be an understatement. The evening was wondrous and the food and ambience rivals any Michelin star restaurant. Don't stop to think just make your reservation and prepare to be enthralled. Alex was our server and he is wonderful. Thank you for a great night out!
Response: Thank you so much!!!

Restaurante Allium: what do users think?

la mer: I thoroughly enjoyed my leisurely coursed lunch at Allium. I sat on the outside patio and enjoyed people watching between dishes. The service was friendly and attentive, the dishes beautifully plated, good wine & the food was fresh and flavorful. I would happily return here on my next visit to Guadalajara.

Scott Winter: This restaurant is in a class above the rest. From the owners / chefs, who operate an open concept kitchen, to the staff that will take the best care of your every need. The mushrooms were fresh and amazing. Totoaba was incredible. Wine selection was good. This has a fresh and welcoming atmosphere with a modern twist. Thank you!!!.

Forest Key: Super delicious creative dishes in a cute covered outdoor seating area above street level in this shaded lovely neighborhood full of shops, bars, and people watching. We ate a fish centric meal but there were land animal proteins and veggies that looked just as enticing. Soy salts and rice vinegar notes on the ceviche courses and nuanced nutty and mushroom and balsamic sauces on our main course fishes; sustainable farming supply chain. Very friendly and attentive wait staff, very nice wine selección, great bathrooms! Prices very reasonable for such high quality fine food. Best meal in our week visiting and trying too rated eateries.

Danichatz Travels (Danichatz): We had a great time at this restaurant! The staff was friendly and the service was good! I visited there with a friend from Belgium. It is a good memory in our list of places in Guadalajara. We got a nice dinner with some traditional Mexican dishes, a bottle of sparkling wine and yummy dessert.

C. Parkinson: Nice little spot. I try to find decent aguachile wherever I go and its actually hard to find. I tried their's and it was quite delicious. Nice crusty bread for an opener. They served the aguachile on some kind of corn style bread. I didn't like it at all, but that could be just my personal preference. I used the bread instead and it worked nicely. Service was a little slow and there were only a few tables occupied at the time. The waiters could use a lesson in multitasking. I will go back, it was good, a bit pricey but very fresh.

Ed Fung: Had dinner at Allium pre-COVID, and I dined there again tonight. Everything was still excellent. I ordered their beef cheeks with portobello mushroom and foie gras, followed by a mamey panna cotta as dessert. Beef cheeks dish was not too heavy. Just the right quantity. Service was friendly as usual. I'll return for sure.

Tony Ward: UPDATE (August 2022) We came back a year later and the owners Adolfo and Maria remembered us! They created a special tasting menu for our visit so we can try many dishes. The quality of ingredients and flavour combos were just amazing. The service was personable and warm. I’ve been to a few fine dining restaurants in the world, and Allium is definitely at the top of the list. I would return again and again not just for the food but for their attentiveness and making us feel like a friend. I would ask them for a tasting menu (it’s not advertised) it truly worth it! ORIGINAL (August 2021) Allium was the gastronomical highlight of my trip to Guadalajara. A really cute open air boutique restaurant with great menu and good selection. On our visit they had 241 promotion for wine. The food uses freshest local seasonal ingredients and were beautifully presented. We were hesitant to try the ant larvae (Mexican caviar) but curiosity got the better of us and we’re glad it did! It was cooked in garlic butter on top of freshly baked brioche. It was savoury and sweet; amazing taste sensation. Unfortunately our meal got cut short due to heavy storms and they lost electricity. We were gutted and went back the next day as we really wanted to try their duck breast and Ox tongue. Unfortunately their electricity was still out 😫 Adolfo was so apologetic and gave us a bottle of tequila. We were so touched by his king gesture. Which restaurant does that?! We’ll definitely have to do another trip to Allium to complete our meal.

Gaby L: The food is very good, tasty and well portioned. The wine selection is nice but the good options are just available by bottle.Food: 4/5 | Service: 4/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 …More

Gabriela Partida: Extraordinary customer service! Every dish was esquisite. Amazingly delicious deserts. Fabulous drinks.

Robert Nickerson: Uuy huappened to find Allium while look0ypy0u0ing for another restaurant in tyyphe Americana district, and fell in love with its inventive farm-to-table c0ypyoy9yuisine. We loved it so much thpupat we returned for a 2nd dinner. By0upypig wins - Betabel sala0y9yd with smoked beets, Pork Belly, Curried u, y00yp00ypy the seared Catch of the Dayyuyy0u (w0u0hitefish) which I had with a peanut y0uyp and squasy0h souffle. Entreesupu0u0upu0u arey90yyyy0yp0yyyypu0puyyp0uuypyyypy0yyo0yp reasonably priced, especially when considering how uniqypp0ue yyp009yypy7070and fresh they are, thanks to Chefs Maria and Alfonso. yp9yyyyypy Also, Allium has a good assortment of Mexicapyupu4uyppn wines and cocktails. Service is efficient, attentive and bi-lingual.

Sagrantino: what do users think?

Fabio Ramirez: The service, the food, the environment is exquisite. Whenever you want to to show off before your potential customers, your future fiance, or whoever you want to have their attention, take them here.

Hebberly Ahatlan: It has been several years of great food, but even better ambiance and memories. Isolated in residential area with a view of a community park, Sagrantino ebbs with a peaceful romance and unpretentious elegance. I like to seat with my mom by the street side view and observe people exercising in the park while enjoying a tasty soup or lush burratta. Enjoy!

Edgar Ponce: Everyone was so nice and warm, the service was perfect for the occasion and the food surpassed my expectations, price against quality stands out from the other restaurants around.

Richie Meza: Great experience. The atmosphere is amazing. View on second floor patio is beautiful. Great food as well.

Briseida R.: The place is beautiful and the service is EXCELLENT! Waiters were so attentive. The food was great, although there weren’t actually many options on the menu that made me say ‘oh yes! I really wanna eat this’. 🤔 But maybe I’m just a picky eater, lol. The music was SUPER loud and sound like club music… But in general, very nice place! :)

Joel H: Service sucks, we went there for lunch, place was empty, our waiter was chatting with the bartender all the time, other waiters were hidden and using their phones chatting inside of the crystal cave. He did not care about us at all. Definitely this place is out of list. Food is ok, but overpriced.

Daniel Argil Aguilar: Lovely place. Quiet mood and everything was delicious. I recommend the romantic dinner reservation with candles.

Esteban Rivero: Great place to have a diner and very good wine list

Andres castro: Great atmosphere, superb food and the service is very fast and professional, try the totol Zinfandel wine

Luke Liu: We had a birthday dinner for my girlfriend here. It is gorgeous! The lobster is very fresh and yummy, and as well as every dishes, delicious and rich in flavors. Service is also good. A great experience! My girlfriend is 120% satisfied about my choice! Her happiness is my happiness!

La Docena: what do users think?

Gaby L: Great place to have a drink and some fresh oysters and clams. Good service but when crowded they tend to rush you to order, eat and leave.Banana ice cream and the molten cake are very good for dessert!

Chris Dyer: Amazing food, atmosphere and service! Tempting to only eat here all week but then we would miss out on all great flavors Mexico has to offer.Update: Day 2 return, shrimp were overcooked and very hard to peel. Everything else was amazing.

Jacob C: The best restaurant in Guadalajara. There’s a reason it’s one of the best restaurants in LATAM. Incredible food, the oysters on the grill were out of this world, as was the fish and ceviche. The cocktails were amazing and the volcano desert was heaven. The service was attentive and helpful, the vibe busy but bustling and the location cool. If you’re in Guadalajara, make a reservation and go.

C C: First night in GDL and decided to stop by La Docena as it was within walking distance from our hotel. The grilled oysters, sweetbread, and gazpacho were excellent. After three days of dining throughout the city, this remained one of our top 3 restaurants.

Andrean Borisov: Oysters are really good. I am visiting this restaurant every time when I visit my family (once a month). Staff is great, manager is not worth to be in this place. I ordered high end tequila that was recommended to me from a friend and they brought me some cheap stuff. When I refuse the shots the manager came to me with almost empty bottle and tried to convince me that this is the real stuff. Very unprofessional and argumentative.

Kent Santin: Great service. Good food. Cool atmosphere. Would definitely go back. The octopus and lamb burger, and the Vulcan cake were particularly memorable. Pretty good cocktail and beer menu.

Catherine Kimber: If you don't like the food here, you're certifiable. Oysters, Queen clams, scallops, blue crab - we dined like royalty. It was a bit chaotic service wise but all friendly and taken care of. Loved

Ed “Simon”: Nice restaurant and atmosphere with good techno music. The food is good. I had the oysters Rockefeller, the ceviche and a grilled fish (recommended!) The desert was the caramel volcano, delicious! The downside is that they ask for a credential to give you the power pack, and then they forget to turn it; furthermore, all the packs were not charged! Prices are good, we were two and did not consume alcohol, the total came Les than 900 pesos.

Willis Edwards: Great atmosphere. Great service.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Duane Luis Magpali: Jamon Iberico de Bellota for the win! Oysters are good as well.

Haakon Brown: Had a wonderful dinner there this evening with my wife. Everything was superb. The service was impeccable and the food amazing. My wife had the salmon in a saffron sauce and I had the duck confit, which was cooked to perfection, crispy skin on the outside and moist duck on the inside bathed in a wonderful sauce. I don't write many reviews unless I truly have an experience worth writing about and this meal was more than worthy. If you are in Guadalajara you must try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed!
Response: We love every single worth you say about us!..we are really Proud working for you all!..hoping seeing you soon again!.

Dionicio Morales: Everything is incredible! Make sure ask for the daily specials!!

Matthew Felner: From the appetizer of salmon, main course of lamb chops, to the dessert 🍮 everything was exquisite. The owner/chef came out to make sure Everything I had was delicious which indeed it was. If you’re in Guadalajara this is a must place to check out.

Valentin Vidrio: Loved it

Pedro Romero: A classic French restaurant, the service is very attentive, thank you all very much, Captain Joset the chef and team... One of the best onion soups that you must try... A very tasty salmon trout and the Rack of lamb as well. ...a lot of real butter and vegetables at their point...definitely a good place...without ostentation...simple and of excellent quality in its products...

Aida Salcedo: The restaurant is very intimate, there is a gallery of paintings. Good attention, it is a reserved environment. Exquisite food and desserts Nice atmosphere ❤️

Joselo Santacruz: Fantastic culinary experience, Luis a great chef, magnificent service, but above all you travel to France with your palate
Response: It is a great pleasure to serve “5-star” clients!…it is gratifying to commune with culinary ideas and customs,…may many like you come!… We wait for you soon.

Raquel Haj: Excellent classic French food. Endive salad and foie gras, unmissable. It has a nice terrace and the service is very attentive.
Response: He honored us with his visit and now with his beautiful words! We hope you will do us the honor of serving you again soon!

Carlos Franco: MARVELOUS! THE PLACE is beautiful, despite not being a large restaurant, everything is very well designed to have an incredible view. THE FOOD is fantastic, the duck breast is definitely a must try, my favorite so far. Everything is very well prepared and the quality is excellent. THE SERVICE is quite nice, all the time they are waiting for what you need and even others! Without a doubt, DAX has a top level over many restaurants. It would be a wonderful option for a special event with your family, friends or partner.
Response: We greatly appreciate your words and we promise to continue with this quality control and improve it where necessary!

Paloma E: Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was excellent.

Tanya Enid: Sunday 4pm, short wait. Went alone, they sat me on a table for four. I enjoyed the music while I worked. Ordered the jaiba "crab" croquettes and they were delicious. Had the berry spritz, good but forgettable, the apple cider was a good alternative to beer but nothing to rave about. I ordered lamb burger and it was delicious. Both the burger and the french fries portion were on the small side. Burger was delicious, bread was soft and fresh, meat was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The fries were piping hot and the sauces really good. To me as female and having had an entire appetizer to myself, portion size of burger and fries was ok but for a 200lb guy, needs at least two burgers. Quality is on point tho. Update: Dic 2022. Tried the fried chicken burger. Just do it.
Response: Thank you Tanya 🖤

Алиса Карасик: Delicious burgers with thick patties, great choice of artisanal beer. We got maple and chimichurri (which by the way could have used a bit mor chimichurri sauce), the were both juicy. The burgers come with salad or fries for your choice. The service was great

C. Jones: Easy review...just go! The burgers are "Simple & Good" and this place, for me, is the Gold standard Guadalajara.

Hugo Treviño: Amazing burgers! Probably the best you'll taste in Guadalajara. The buns are soft and delicious, the meat is ultra-tasty, the toppings are really well paired altogether in a fantastic combination of flavours. Overall they have superb burgers; the place is clean and comfy with a nice setting. Service is great and staff is really amicable. Keep up the good work!
Response: Thank you very much Hugh!!! 🙌🏻

Whereverimayroam: This is a fantastic burger spot. Nice atmosphere but what really sets this place apart is that they make the buns in house (always super fresh) and they cook their burgers over a real wood fire. Probably the best burger I’ve ever had!

Daniel Guerra: We arrived around 7:30 and it wasn't packed so we got a table right away. I order a lamb burger and it was delicious, best thing ever! My Sangría was also real good. Prices are affordable and the services is pretty fast. Would go back again (:

Anuar Ramirez: Exceptional burger. Perfectly sized patty, really well cooked, and uber juicy. Washed it down with a kombucha.

Victor Lu: To list down best burgers in this city, it is not so match my imagination. Maple burger is too greasy for me, I prefer something light vegetables add inside to balance . The French fried is a little bit dry. Total service is good and friendly.
Response: Hi Victor, it's too bad that you didn't love it, and yes, the maple being wrapped in bacon is a guarantee that it won't be a light Burger hehe but if you require vegetables to add it is just a matter of asking our staff. We propose it like this because we don't love the combination of maple and vegetables, but if you prefer, go ahead! Feel free to let us know on your next visit. (And we went to the kitchen Potatoes comment) 😉 greetings!

Aaron Marr Page: Burger enthusiasts must try. Louie Burger near by is more classic trendy/gourmet. These burgers are more subtle but are brilliant. The bun is incredibly pillowy but also doesn't get mushy - how?! The burger is small but amount of meat is tremendous. The maple burger just had an edge of sweetness, not overpowering. There is an artist at work here. Must try.
Response: Thanks!! 😀

Matthew Durocher: Great quality hamburgers, with high quality ingredients and toppings. I have taken many of my friends here, and they are always impressed. Honestly some of the best burgers I have had in GDLRecommended dishes Soft Shell Crab Croquettes, Dip, Burgers, Sauce, Cheese Burger …More

D'FRANCK: what do users think?

Zahid Rafique (Zee): First time tried it for French cuisine after noticing the decor and ambience which seemed to have class, so assumed food would be equally good. Ordered tartere de atun, onion soup for starters and gnocchi w salmon for main course and a salad. Disappointed. None was above being pretty ordinary. The tartere was dry and long dead, the onion soup despite rave reviews was insipid and with no crust, and the gnocchi was surprisingly just lumps of dough with no stuffings at all!!! They didn't have Merlot, nor my favorite Fillet Mignon! In a French joint??? Unvleievable. The Cabernet Sauvignon felt harsh on the throat. Probably the cheap variety. So overall, average food at gourmet prices. Will give it a miss next time.

Andres Toledo: We went for the first time last year and the dinner was amazing, the restaurant is expensive but completely worth it. Yesterday we went again and we were not disappointed. The chef is changing the menu constantly so it’s not getting boring. D’Frank has become one of our favorite restaurants in Guadalajara and we will keep going back. The service is friendly and always paying attention, at least in our experience. This is one of the restaurants you have to try when visiting Guadalajara.

Jorge Prozzi: This restaurant is located right next to the Hilton Guadalajara Midtown. They recently opened in October 2019 so it was a risk. But as they say, “big risks, big rewards”. I had a great experience, both food and service were excellent. I tried the fish of the day with a champagne sauce which was delicious. After dinner I had the café escocés: scotch, expresso and vanilla ice-cream. It was definitely a experience to repeat. I may come back tomorrow for the grilled octopus ;-)

Antonio Belmonte: Be very careful to order food “ steak “ to go go!!! Two ice I ordered sirloin and they send the cheapest meat out to me!!!! I find this well out of order!!! I went back to the restaurant and they admitted it was NOT what I ordered. Very disappointed!!!! See photos….

defields0902: Was part of a party of seven Saturday night. Appetizers served included escargot, onion soup gratinée, camembert baked in puff pastry, and a salad. (Some dishes were shared.) Main courses were Coq au vin, Steak w/frites, gnocchi, rabbit. Portions were generous. Even though some dishes were shared, there still was some food left. And NOT due to any fault with the food. It was very tasty and cooked to order. The only dessert served was the chocolate "volcano" cake with vanilla ice cream. Good ice cream and intense decadent chocolate taste. Not 5 stars because of a kerfuffle with the timing of the starters and serving of the main course, probably due to miscommunication. Also felt that wine serving/consumption was somewhat pushy. Still, a nice evening with courteous service and food that was appreciated and enjoyed by all.

Carlos Medina: Excellent customer service, quality and fresh ingredients. Delicious!!!

ٌّ ٌّ: Amazing escargot. You never see that anywhere. The foie gras wasn’t available. The rest of the meal was good but just normal. Nothing to write home about. For the price there are better options but I still recommend going and trying it out.

Christyne Davidian: People were nice. Horrible fettuccine alfredo. Large chucks of unmelted cheese and greasy. Chose because only veggie dish option. Two days later I realized I left my new designer jacket there and was delighted my server had been holding it for me! This was so very kind.

TANPIANNA KEE: Beautiful space, excellent service, delicious & creative cuisine, inside the Midtown Shopping-Center. Ask for the lobster tacos and duck tacos, highly recommended!! Creme brulee is also a must in this place, totally the best!!

Kenneth Moskal: Excelente comida y experiencia. Me gusto mucho el menu.Excellent food and customer service. The menu has a great variety of food so we all found something we enjoyed.

Zibu Guadalajara: what do users think?

Elishia Perosa: What a fabulous experience! We absolutely loved the food and the service was magnificent. We have travelled quite a bit and our waiter, Yamil, was one of the best waiters we have been served by anywhere! He even went out of his way to bring us pastries at lunch time fresh from the bakery when they weren’t being offered. We are completely grateful to be received with such love! Thank you!

Kate Schnabel Downey: Zibu was an excellent experience! Wonderful food and service. The steak was cooked expertly, the seared tuna was delicious and we couldn’t get enough of the desserts. The cocktail menu was small but offered good variety and well curated drinks. On top of a great meal and service, the ambiance is incredible.

Merin: Wonderful service from our waiter Yamil and a beautiful restaurant design. The food was all very tasty and fresh, especially the rocket roll and tropical grilled shrimp. We have been to Zibu Acapulco, and the quality was comparable, although the menu here is not as varied or innovative. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night (they don't seem to advertise it, there was not even a sign outside on the hotel building, and we got quite lost). I recommend they invest in more marketing, as it deserves more visitors.

Omar Hassam: Highly recommend this restaurant! The food is very fresh and super high-quality. The service is amazing. Emiliano, Alex & Alfonso took great care of us and we will definitely be back!
Response: Dear Mr. Hassam, thank you very much for visiting us! We are glad to know that the Zibu experience has been to your liking and we appreciate you taking the time to write your valuable opinion. Receiving you again will be a pleasure!

Eric Rojas: Great experience. Waiters are great. Antonio, and Yamil are awesome and super attentive on everything. Bartender makes the best drinks. Do recommend.

Stephanie Alicia: We had dinner here, and experienced a lovely evening thanks to service by Yamil. He was such a great help in making our dinner memorable. The service was quick and smooth and all of our questions were answered with no hesitation. Yamil was great, the food was delicious and the wine selection was amazing. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Yamil!

Ben Ornelas: Excellent service, Yamil our server was amazing and very knowledgeable and personable, he had amazing menu suggestions; the food was also delicious and very appealing.

Doug Byron: The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had just arrived after traveling and they made sure I was treated very well. Nice start to a business trip

Fran Ces: 3 stars only because The Waiter, Emiliano, was the only standout of this dining experience. The only fusion that I tasted ,was that the chicken in my curry , plus an abundance of carrots, reminded me of Campbell soups.

Joseph Lemieux: Excellent service, very friendly staff, food was very good and I recommend the seared Ahi Tuna.
Response: Thank you very much for your visit, Mr. Lemieux. Likewise, we appreciate your kind comments and rating. We look forward to seeing you soon in Zibu Guadalajara!

Keith LaRoche: Phenomenal salt block Australian steak we also had the cheek meat..... just can't go wrong. It's well worth the money. Being from the States the price is just relative. Well worth it. Our server Luis had the manager watching him constantly. He did real well under pressure. Great service. If you don't come her, you have done yourself wrong.. Absolutely recommend.
Response: Thank you so much for the incredible comments ! We are so honored to receive you ! Please come back anytime !

Jeanine Garnicki: What an experience. The food was phenomenal and the customer service was just amazing. I'm not good at writing reviews because I'm not good at describing the flavors. But everything we had was to die for. Such amazing customer service. Thank you Leon and stagg for this amazing experience!
Response: Thank you so much for the incredible comments and feedback ! We’ll keep working towards making this experience better and better. It’s our pleasure, please come back anytime! First round is on us.

Rob B: This restaurant sits between the JW Marriott and the AC Marriott and it was stellar on all fronts! The service was on the ready and made me feel like I was the only one in the place. The food... It was so flavorful and authentic like abuelita would make... Presentation? You decide.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Response: Thank you Rob ! For such kind comments. It’s always our pleasure to make this experience as enjoyable as possible and we love when you like it. Thank you ! Hope to see you soon en su casa , Brick.

Crystal McKinney: Tonight was another great night for me at Brick. I booked a 6 month AirBNB in Guadalajara starting on 7/15. I’ve eaten here with my husband 4 times and 2 additional times alone. Every time my server had been Miguel. He was our first server and the experience was so great we just request him every time. No matter what the service here is outstanding from the hostess, managers, waiters, and more. I’ve included a few photos of some of the meals that we’ve enjoyed here. Visit Brick whenever you can.
Response: We are so glad to have you ! Thank you so much for the comments and we hope to see you soon. From all the Brick team : Thank you !

Ejay Menchavez: There's a lot of comments about this place being overpriced, but I guess it's in comparison to the area it's located in. I'm from NYC and an $80 USD Tomahawk is a steal. Of course I'm paying for the ambience and experience as well, but the service is top-notch and the drinks are great. I believe I'm getting what I paid for when I come here. **I forgot to take pictures of it! They took the fat from the tomahawk, fried it up, and put them into tacos** (if I could, I would order just that, it was delicious 🤤)
Response: Thank you so much for the recomendation and the wonderful comments! We love having people from all over the world , thank you so much for visiting and we hope we can see you soon.

Nicholas Wey: interesting experience but a bit disappointed on the payment process. i just arrived in GDL and wanted just enjoy few beer with a great steak 🥩 and yes i got an amazing streak experience, but when I paid the waiter was super mean because I just gave 10% tip, for me as a German it's actually a lot compared to the final bill. the waiter ignored me after it and asked even if I'm unhappy... the plate carrier service was super friendly. overall super service. waiter was thinking I'm an American and this can be reason for the behavior. overall i can recommend the place , great experience and steak 🥩 was super Rico. will order next time a bigger one, for testing it was good.

Aaron Merhoff: Spent an evening in Guadalajara to catch an international flight. I read multiple favorable reviews of Brick Steakhouse so decided to give it a shot. It did not disappoint, everything was outstanding!! I was solo so just sat at the bar to eat, yet the service was absolutely top level. I had the shrimp appetizer which was recommended by one of my servers (yes there was multiple servers helping and they were all excellent), the shrimp was fantastic. I had a very nice salad followed by the American Prime ribeye steak. The steak was flavored and cooked to perfection. I have been fortunate to eat in some of the top steakhouses in New York City and other "big foodie" cities..Brick Steakhouse in Guadalajara competes in terms of ambiance, service, and food quality. Outstanding across the board!
Response: Thank you Aaron ! For such kind comments. It’s our pleasure. We are honored that you liked your experience. Come back anytime ! And let us take care of the drinks.

E. TORRES: Soooooo good! Thanks to our waiter Miguel Hernandez, my son and I had the best steakhouse experience we have ever had. With Miguel's recommendations, we chose the Tomahawk steak that was cooked to perfection, the service was excellent and the choices he helped with made our dining experience something we will never forget!

Kassandra Castillo: We had the tenderloin, bone marrow, and buratta and everything was delicious, atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend.
Response: Thank you so much for these incredible comments ! Come back anytime ! Drinks are on us.

Thomas Minard: Wow wow what an amazing meal and atmosphere and the server was damn good. Might be the best steak I have had ontop of just a great experience. We asked the server for his favorite appy and so we got the bean tacos that are fried in beef fat which he was for sure correct it was amazing the grilled octopus was pretty tasty. The decorating and just vibe made for a great Friday night. Just seeing other reviews so had to edit since I seen the server we had named with picture with other reviews, was the same for us Miguel Hernandez made the experience that much better.

Ronda May: The fillet mignon dish was tasty, not the meat so much as the sauce and veggies. Those were fantastic! The escargot wasn't bad but not my favorite. If you prefer buttery, garlic escargot, you will be disappointed, as these are herbal. They do, however, offer different quantities than the 6 shown in the menu. The chicken and mushroom appetizer was okay, but nothing I'd order again. There was fresh bread and butter that I really enjoyed. The red wine list was a bit disappointing. I was looking for a Pinot noir and the cheapest option was 1000 pesos. Considering there were other red and white options for 200-300, I was very disappointed. The live piano music was in good taste and wasn't too loud to enjoy conversation. I'd go back, but I'll try another French restaurant first.

Johnny Murnane: The best French food in guadalajara, great service and excellent winesFood: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Oswaldo Ulises Huerta Hernandez: The food, drinks and dessert are just delicious there's no way to choose wrong. The place is all tidy and neat, many reviews say the service wasn't good, I say otherwise, really good service and everybody made sure we were doing well.Great prices for what you get.

Mari Salgado: House sangría with escargots on the patio with live music on a Friday afternoon with my hubby, they have valet parking and sangria to go, life is good when you can come out here just to relax with good service and great food cheers..... They have a very large drink menu🍷🍾🥂🍹🍸🥃

Andri: Delicious food .There is live piano or accordion playing .Place with its charm and history , it is now 40 years old. Very nice French restaurant .

Alejandra Vizca: La comida francesa más rica en GDL. La atención de su gente te hace sentir en casa. Uno de nuestros lugares preferidos. IF YOU LIKE FRENCH CUISINE, this is the place to go in Guadalajara. The food is exquisite, the service is the best, they make you feel at home in a nice environment. For us, is the place to go for special occasions, and to treat ourselves everyday too. It’s home away from home.

Mattias Månsson: Cozy little french restaurant with pretty good food and nice personnel. Only thing I didn't enjoy that much was their bearnaise. Too much vinagre and more of a paste than a sauce.

sandra Lang: I notice that several reviews commented on poor service. I thought service, food and ambience was excellent up to bill paying time. Our bill was for $800 p and since we did not have the correct amount we gave the waiter $1200 p and then waited. And waited and waited. We could see the cashier and waiter glancing at us and thought, surely they aren’t expecting a $400 p tip on an $800 p bill. After a 10 minute wait the waiter LOUDLY asked us from the other side of the room, ARE YOU WAITING FOR YOUR CHANGE? It was embarrassing. We said yes and then begrudgingly left the 15% tip we had intended to leave in the first place. You couln’t drag me back in there with a team of work horses.

Lourdes Armendariz: Great place !!! Excellent food and superb service...will visit and recommend as a classy place...

Jorge Chimal: The food presentation clearly showed the traditional French cuisine. The taste of the food was delicious, the restaurant fancy and traditional, and the piano music was beautiful.

Silvia Mendez (Shivis): Excelent service!!! It's a must visit on your staying here. The breakfast dishes are really good and delicious, great quality and quantity. The bread is made everyday at the place. Everything is so delicious!!! The croissant are super crunchy outside and soft inside. The Chocolate french toast is really good, it's worth it to try it.

leah grommesch: The flavors, presentation, staff and ambiance were all fantastic. The coffee was on par with what I'd expect from a nice café in my hometown Seattle, no less GDL. The tomato salad accompanying my croque madame was an excellent and refreshing touch. So much variety in tea, too! Muchas gracias por todo! 💜

Giovanni Escalera: This is a french spot but what I really recommend are the Mexican dishes like the enfrijoladas, not heavy and really good. The french sandwiches are also a must. I can tell you that brunch is the biggest star of this place. The space used to be a french house from circa 1900's, it is cozy an and has a backyard that is absolutely relaxing.

LeVar “Lflat” Ferrell: I was recommended to try this place by a local friend. I was extremely satisfied with my meal! The ambiance, service, presentation, and food were all top notch. Frida was my server and she was so nice and sweet. It's too bad I have to go back to Philadelphia. The food here will be missed.

San Francisco: Update Feb 2022 - I was back in Guadalajara and looking forward to visiting the boulangerie again. Unfortunately this time my experience was so so. I noticed a significant decline in service. For example I ordered coffee, but the server did not bring any sugar or spoon. Afterwards and I ordered the meal, they again did not bring any fork spoons or napkins. Each time I had to ask and wait. I ordered a second coffee and the server name of that I was using sugar and milk but the server did not bring either. By the time I waited after asking the server, the coffee had gone cold. --- During my stay in the neighborhood I had only one opportunity for breakfast and this place was on top of my list! I went around 9AM and there was long waiting line as expected! As I was alone, I got seated ahead of others :) and got a table with one chair across from the bar. The place was humming and the vibe was awesome. I was attended by English speaking lady who could have been the owner if not the manager of the place. I ordered omelette with Mexican twist and coffee. Everything from the service to quality of food was great! I highly recommend this place while you are visiting GDL!!

Kambiz Motamedi: Very nice place. Great service and friendly staff. We had coffee, pan francés , and croque mándame. All tasty and delicious. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Dale: All food was great. Coffee wasn’t quite hot enough but that’s ok. Not English speaking. Service was nice.

Always K: This is definitely the go-to place for indulgence. If you are brunch lover you will find an amazing menu to select from. Great service and yummy breakfast treats. Grab a loaf of bread to take home.

E T: Food and atmosphere were great!Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Hector Lopez: This is by far, my favorite Mexican food restaurant in Guadalajara. Don't expect taquitos, gorditas or tortas, this is real Mexican food and is delicious

Hope Loudon: I went here for my birthday and had the chile en nogada. I told the waiter about my birthday and he brought me this with one of those trick candles that won't burn out. He took some good pictures too. He asked where my friends are. I said I have some here, but they're busy, and we can celebrate this weekend. He said the dessert is a hug from him. Very nice old man. The dessert wasn't particularly special, but the sentiment is, and the nogada is an unusual experience. Very rich, so be prepared to take some home. It's extremely sweet.

Ross Foth: Was expecting much better food. The quesadillas, well, that's what they were called on the menu were melted cheese in very stodgy bread with an ok sauce. The main course of duck was over cooked and dry with a very sweet glaze/sauce. Also the margerita had cordial in it.

Jerry Wang: We found this place by luck. The description of the restaurant was "whimsical" so we decided to check it out. As it turns out, we had a wonderful lunch. Food and service were all great. The waiter even went out of his way to get me a non-alcoholic beer.

John Bell: Staff smoking at the front door so it wafts through the restaurant. The Sangria has jalapeño without warning. As for food, we play a a game: is it haute cuisine or Trader Joe’s frozen? Each dish was the latter. We had exceptional meals in Guadalajara. This wasn’t among them.

Lucas A: There’s nothing to dislike about this place. Service is fantastic. The atmosphere and ambiance is great. And the food? Incredible. I had the September Chile and I can’t possibly recommend it more highly. English menus are available if needed.

D C: I can describe it as a disappointing visit, expectation were for a recommendation for a place with surprising plates and flavorful preparation. This looks like an old place that has lived their best times, living from memories and not reinvesting in renewing it. Food is a great idea on the menu, half way good in presentation and disappointing on the flavor, lack of taste and not those expected explosive ideas came to reality, even a simple lemonade was plain. Service is old school, not meaning anything against older people, it is simple that they are not experts on their dishes and they are not able to transmit an experience. I would not recommend, it is not the worst place because they still have that flame in the menu ideas, but they do not materialize them.

Mark Moliterni: Lovely and romantic little place. The atmosphere is fantastic with the decor, outdoor courtyard, and little old man playing the piano. I had the flank steak which was good but didn’t blow me away. The dessert, on the other hand, was fantastic. I was going to get something else but the waiter urged me to try their house specialty (not sure the name). One of the best things I’ve eaten in Mexico!

Andri: Beautiful place . Mexican dishes with modern touch . Place with history and class .Chile en Nogada whole year .

Mark S: I went here three times. I had the roasted pork shank, duck, and a pepper stuffed with shrimp, pasta, and cheese. They were all good, but the pork shank was by far the best. I would skip the taramisu. It's a beautiful restaurant.
